Wednesday Afternoon School Offerings

A new Wednesday offering to all CCHS Students

210

Dear Catholic Central Family:

By now you have heard about our Wednesday afternoon offerings for students that coincide with our professional development for our staff from 1:30-3:00 PM. Research shows that leisure activities are an essential component in stress reduction, and contribute to a healthy mental and physical disposition. At CCHS, we are committed to educating and forming the whole child- mind, body and spirit.

At the end of school each Wednesday at 1:30PM, students may, if they so choose, go home….. HOWEVER……

If a student chooses to remain on campus, below is all of the information you will need for the student to take part in the Wednesdayafternoon activities for August, September and October.

What to wear and how to be ready for class:

Clothing should be comfortable. A loose fitting shirt however, may end up around your neck in the downward dog pose. Make sure you can tuck your shirt in if it is not a close fitting top. Socks are slippery…. barefoot is best and gives us the grip necessary to establish a strong foundation to rise out of. One may want to dress in layers as this will help while warming up and also to keep us warm during final relaxation.

Bring water to rehydrate.  If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it.  If you do not, the school will provide one.

Turn cell phones off before a class and avoid wearing any scented products for those who are sensitive to smell. You have set this time aside and cultivating a space that is conducive to centering yourself is imperative.

This disclaimer governs our yoga classes.  We will ask you to sign this disclaimer before taking part in any yoga class.
